Pumpkins!!!

 

I love to watch the changing of seasons.  Each season holds so many special adventures, opportunities, colors, climates and decor!  As Michigan transitions from summer to Autumn, I'm finding new surprises every day while rediscovering this time of the year.  Wearing jeans and sweaters for the cold weather is always a favorite for me.  I also love watching the trees change colors.  The fiery reds and pastel oranges stand out against other still-green trees.  The sun leaves quicker than it did a month ago.  

If you know my mom, you'll know she loves decorating- especially for fall and winter!  We went looking for pumpkins (to set around the house) early this month and found this adorable stand along the road.  I had a blast taking pictures of the all the different kinds.  I hope you enjoy looking at the shots!

Who knew that wasps liked pumpkins?  I certainly didn't!  But I was glad to find another fun subject to photograph.

I love the way the middle pumpkin still stands straight up, even though a lot of the others have tipped over.  It reminds me that many things in our lives will get shaken.  But, at the core of us, our true values remain.  Different seasons of life allow for us to get different viewpoints when examining what truly matters to us.

Now this is a wonderful scene!  So many different shades, textures and sizes making up one group.  It's something beautiful, admired and picturesque when people come together like this.

We all have a wheelbarrow full of "life pumpkins"- experiences, emotions, memories, people, failures and achievements.  How much interest do you give to others' stories?  How often do you tell your own in order to open up the opportunity for others to share theirs?

They seem very different.  One's bright white and the other is fiery orange.  But at the core, they are both pumpkins!

We all have a platform.  It's the areas where your talents shine.  It's the friend you can comfort.  It's the sibling you can spend time with.  The service you can appreciate.  We all have a platform on which to be kind!

Everyone has a part of them they don't openly share.  While you might not be the person to whom they can release that secret, you do have the power to be forgiving and kind.  Remember that you don't know why others do what they do.  Give them the benefit of the doubt.

I want to write a quick message to all of you who feel distorted, messed up, ruined or... cracked.  I feel that too.  My emotions will differ a bit from yours; my story isn't the same as yours.  But you are not alone.
